A well-respected journalist for more than two decades, Reshonda has worked as a Television Reporter and Anchor for stations in Oklahoma City, Beaumont, and Houston. ReShonda also works an editor for the Houston Defender Newspaper, as well as a professional editor, ghostwriter and literary consultant. She left her job at FOX 26 News in Houston in 2007 to write full-time. And write she does… ReShonda is the national bestselling author of more than 40 books. She writes both adult and teen fiction, as well as nonfiction. Several of her books have been optioned for movies, including her sophomore novel, Let the Church Say Amen, directed by actress Regina King, and produced by TD Jakes and Queen Latifah. ReShonda made her on-screen movie debut in the film, which aired in August 2015 and was one of BET’s highest rated original programs. Two more of ReShonda’s books will become movies on TV One (The Secret She Kept, which ReShonda also makes an appearance in, airing July 10, 2016) and (The Devil is a Lie, airing Fall of 2016).

ReShonda, along with National Best Selling author, Victoria Christopher Murray, is the co-founder of Brown Girls Books, a boutique publishing company aimed at producing quality books from fresh voices and fan favorites. The company boasts a roster of more than 40 authors. ReShonda and Victoria are also the founders of WritersPro, which provides digital and live workshops to help new, established and veteran writers take their talents to the next level.

ReShonda is also a former professor of Broadcast Journalism at Langston University. She is married to Dr. Miron Billingsley, a Vice Chancellor at North Carolina Central University. The Billingsleys have three children ages 16, 14, and 9.
